Hi, I'm Scott.
Buttons and Bows was instigated around the time of my christening. My folks had to organize the event at the drop of a hat. They talked about how nice it would have been to pick up the phone and have a 'know it all' organize the event for us. Right from getting my christening garb organized (christening gown, bib, boots, etc.), booking the venue, decorating the venue, organizing for food and bevy's after the ceremony.
It was the scramble leading up to the day of that could have been avoided. Both my parents were busy working during the day. My mum was juggling phone calls and making decisions. Driving over to the local bakery to order my cake and ensure it would be ready for the ceremony. Calling and inviting family and friends over. My family put their creative heads together to come up with a cute favour - a picture of me for the event.
Grandma, the bonafide baby sitter ensuring I was fed, changed and napped while all the scurrying around was happening in the background. And on it went - charging up all the cameras, video recorders and of course cell phones (!). My uncle, the artist, was nominated as the official photographer to catch all those important moments like me fussing at the ceremony. My aunt played chauffeur and drove everyone around and helped out where she could.
So, if you kids want a seamless ceremony look up Buttons and Bows and my mum and aunt will take care of your event. I had a great time and have pictures to prove it. A seamless ceremony at the church, a great after party with lots of cake with family and friends. The cake by-the-way was really cool, I even got a lick of the icing. But most of all I can say that I'm as "cute as a button" cause everyone said so.
